Almost every fastener set on the cataraft frame consists of some combination of a stainless steel hex head cap screw, stainless steel hex carriage screw, flat washers and lock washers. The exceptions are where a special captive nuts such as a T-nuts or a U-nuts are used.

In almost all cases the thread size of the screws and nuts on the frame is 5/16-18 (5/16 inch diameter, 18 threads per inch). These can usually be found at better hardware stores and can be ordered from River King if you need some spares or replacements. Another good source is industrial specialty distrubutors such as Fastenal, Inc. or McMaster-Carr. All the fasteners you need to assemble your cataraft are included with your order. Several spare fastener sets are also included with each order.

Note that even though we use stainless steel fasteners throughout the frame it's always good to wash your cataraft down thoroughly with fresh water after any ride in the salt.
