River King 2007 . . . the world's finest fishing and working catarafts |
Oar Stand Detail

River King rowing systems are built from whitewater grade components throughout. Fishing and research will seldom place as much stress on the rowing system as Class 4 whitewater but you get that level of strength anyway.
For example, our oar stands are made of .25 inch thick stainless steel stock - in two pieces so you can set the height to match your body size, oar length, etc. They are set at the standard 18 degree from vertical. The oarstands attach to the upper decks at any short or long cross brace. These can be located anyplace along the length of the deck.
All fasteners on the frame are either aluminum rivets (for the Upper Deck Plates) or are stainless steel screws with brass nuts to keep them from galling together under pressure.
Also note that utility holes are located along the full length of the upper decks along each edge of the Upper Deck Plates. In the background you can see two lengths of elastic cord (bungee) have been attached using those holes as a way to keep the anchor line under control and off the lower deck.
*All NRS inflatable hulls feature Leafield air valves. There are three air chambers on each hull - and therefore three Leafield valves per hull.
