Aft Long Cross Brace w/ Anchor Brackets

The River King frame allows for almost unlimited anchoring options. No anchor, one anchor, multiple anchors - and they can be mounted at either end of the boat.

Multiple anchors is a useful option on rivers. It's easier lifting two small anchors than one big one. And in some cases in slow water one is enough. Also in some cases it is useful to use a single anchor at the bow and stern to position the boat more precisely on lakes in the wind

Both the short and long cross braces that support the anchor brackets are made from .125 wall, 1.0 by 2.0 inch 6061-T6 aluminum rectangular extrusion, finished with a flat black industrial grade powder coating over a marine primer.

The metal parts of the anchor pulleys are stainless steel. Fasteners on the frame are stainless steel screws, brass nuts, aluminum rivets in Upper Deck Plates.

The lower deck is made from Western Red Cedar in 2 ft. sections that are as wide as the Lower Deck (Typically 32" for a 14 or 16 ft cataraft or  34" for a 16 or 18 ft cataraft. This is a light strong wood that virtually impervious to rot and withstands exposure very well. If the lower deck slats are ever damaged from cleats or gear they can easily be replaced using cedar or similar 1 by 4 material from your local lumber store. These are screwed to the Lower Deck Spars from below so that field replacement only requires a Phillips screwdriver.

* If you plan to wear cleated wading shoes on board just lay some indoor / outdoor carpet over the slats on areas where you will be standing to protect the cedar.
